A Weekend In Hel

An autumn walk along the bright, wind-shaped coast of Hel.

Late October brought sharp light to the Hel Peninsula. The low sun turned the water silver, reduced walkers on the broad beach to small silhouettes, and picked out every fold in the dunes. Farther along, a rocky breakwater traced the edge of the peninsula into the Baltic. These three photographs follow a short walk from open sand to the exposed end of the coast.
